The Altar Server Ministry at St. Elizabeth’s of Hungry Catholic Church is open to men and women, boys and girls. Servers should be mature enough to understand their responsibilities and to carry them out well and with appropriate reverence. They should have already received holy communion for the first time and normally receive the eucharist whenever they participate in the liturgy.
For information about becoming an Altar Server at St. Elizabeth’s, please call or text the Director of Altar Servers at the number listed in the Bulletin.
Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM)
Every adult involved in any ministry in the Dioceses of Austin must be part of the Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) program. The EIM program is designed to protect youth and vulnerable adults from all forms of abuse. The EIM program includes a background check, attending a workshops every 3 years, and following the behavior and reporting guideline. The Altar Server Ministry at St. Elizabeth is fully compliant with the EIM program and requires that all adults that interact with Altar Servers to be EIM certified. Altar Servers over the age of 18 are also required to go through the EIM program.
