MEET DIEGO ESTRADA, OUR SEMINARIAN!

Hola Familia! I'm excited to share a bit about myself with you. Born and raised in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, I spent 26 wonderful years there before joining the diocese. I come from a loving Catholic family of seven, and my faith has always been a guiding force in my life. I attended Catholic school and later studied Communications and Marketing at the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM).

What brought me to the diocese, you ask? Well, my sister used to live in Austin, and I have the pleasure of being close with Fr. Enrique Sada, which eventually led me to join the seminary! I'm now starting my second year at Holy Trinity as a Pre-Theologian.

Some fun facts about me: I've given nearly 200 conferences and talks (wearing orange crocs!) across Mexico on topics like vulnera-bility, authenticity, and community building. You can even find some videos online about my project #TUVIDAESINCREIBLE! I also auditioned for the movie "Coco" by Pixar (but didn't quite make the cut) and I’m good at playing tennis!

On a spiritual note, my relationship with God is everything to me. He's my Father, and I'm His son – that's what matters most. I draw inspiration from Teresa of Ávila and Therese of Lisieux, and my goal is to become a great friend and expert in their spirituality to share with others. A quote that resonates with me is from St. Therese: "I ASSURE YOU THAT THE GOOD LORD IS MUCH KINDER THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE. HE IS SATISFIED WITH A GLANCE, WITH A SIGH OF LOVE…."
My favorite Gospel passage is when Jesus appears to St. Thomas and invites him to touch His wounds.

I'm thrilled to be on this “aventura” with God the Father! Know that I pray for the parish all the time! Thank you for receiving me and keeping me in your prayers.

¡Hola Familia! Me emociona compartir un poco sobre mí con ustedes. Nací y crecí en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, pasé 26 maravillosos años allí antes de unirme a la diócesis. Vengo de una familia católica amorosa de siete, y mi fe siempre ha sido una fuer-za que guía mi vida. Asistí a la escuela católica y después estudié Comunicación y Mercadotecnia en la Universidad de Monterrey
(UDEM).

¿Qué me trajo a la diócesis? Bueno, mi hermana vivía en Austin, y tengo el placer de estar cerca del Padre Enrique Sada, ¡lo que eventualmente me llevó a ingresar al seminario! Ahora estoy empezando mi segundo año en Holy Trinity como Pre-Teólogo.

Algunos datos curiosos sobre mí: He dado cerca de 200 conferen-cias y pláticas (¡usando crocs naranjas!) en todo México sobre te-mas como vulnerabilidad, autenticidad y construcción de comuni-dad. ¡Incluso puedes encontrar algunos videos en línea sobre mi proyecto #TUVIDAESINCREIBLE! También hice una audición para la película «Coco» de Pixar (pero no pasé el corte) y ¡soy bue-no jugando tenis!

En el plano espiritual, mi relación con Dios lo es todo para mí. Él es mi Padre y yo soy su hijo: eso es lo que más me importa. Me inspiro en Teresa de Ávila y Teresa de Lisieux, y mi objetivo es convertirme en un gran amigo y experto en su espiritualidad para compartirla con los demás. Una cita que resuena en mí es de Santa Teresa: «TE ASEGURO QUE EL BUEN SEÑOR ES MUCHO MÁS BUENO DE LO QUE PUEDES IMAGINAR. SE CONTEN-TA CON UNA MIRADA, CON UN SUSPIRO DE AMOR....»
