Prayer for a New Bishop

Almighty and ever living God, grant our Holy Father, Pope Francis, wisdom in discernment as he chooses a new bishop for this local Church. By your divine providence, grant us a shepherd, after the heart of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, whose benevolent care and kindly zeal will strengthen the people of God by the light of the Gospel and the power of the sacraments. Lord, as you now prepare to call our new bishop to the Diocese of Austin, give him courage and generosity to respond with a spirit of joyful hope. Invoking the intercession of our patroness, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Oración por un Nuevo Obispo

Dios todopoderoso y eterno, concede a nuestro Santo Padre, el Papa Francisco, sabiduría en el discernimiento mientras elige un nuevo obispo para esta Iglesia local. Por tu divina providencia, concédenos un pastor, en busca del corazón de Jesús, el Buen Pastor, cuyo cuidado benevolente y amable entusiasmo fortalezcan al pueblo de Dios con la luz del Evangelio y el poder de los sacramentos. Señor, mientras te preparas para llamar a nuestro nuevo obispo para la Diócesis de Austin, dale el valor y la generosidad para responder con un espíritu de alegre esperanza. Invocando la intercesión de nuestra patrona, Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción, te lo pedimos por Cristo nuestro Señor. Amén.
