RCIA
RCIA is a process by which adults are initiated into the Catholic Church. It is a step-by-step process involving instructions in the Catholic faith and certain rituals. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 7 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. starting on the first Thursday in September and ending around Pentecost Sunday. The Rite of Acceptance is celebrated on the first Sunday of Advent, the Rite of Election on the first Sunday of Lent, and administration of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
The program is open to anyone wishing to join the Catholic Church through baptism or the profession of faith, or anyone who wishes to complete the Christian Initiation by receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. Those who are practicing Catholics who wish to enrich their faith are also invited. There are also opportunities for them to be sponsors to the candidates who are on their journey of faith. SCRIPTURE STUDY
Seeking to develop a deeper understanding of God’s Word in Scripture through reading and reflection, small group discussion, video, lecture, and prayer. Each program focuses on a particular book of the Bible.
We meet for about an hour and a half in the RE Center. (Two groups: Wednesday mornings, 10:30 am, or Tuesday evenings, 7 pm). No previous study of the bible required. Due to today’s busy schedules, regular attendance is desirable, but all are welcome to attend whenever possible.
