Knights of Columbus College Scholarships

TO: High School Seniors

The St. Elizabeth of Hungary of Columbus Council #10373 are pleased to announce the sponsorship of five (5) college scholarships of $400.00 each for any graduating senior from high school, parishioner at St Elizabeth and is a student/child of a parishioner family at St. Elizabeth of Hungary. The high school graduate must be attending and registered at an accredited two-year, four-year or trade school in the 2024-2025 academic year. Scholarship total is $400.00 each and it will be sent to the department of admissions of the accredited school student is registered at. Email your application to scholarship committee chair Charlie Torres at [email protected] or submit your complete application to the church office in a sealed envelope by the deadline, 11:59pm, April15, 2024. Selection of recipients will be announced at the May 6, 2024, K of C Council meeting.

REQUIREMENT:

• You and your family must be parishioners at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Pflugerville.
• Attending post-secondary education two-year, four-year, or trade school in 2024-2025 academic year.
• Complete K of C Council 10373 scholarship application.
• Attach (1) one letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or counselor.

CRITERIA: Recipients will be chosen based on five (5) criteria.

• What volunteer service at St. Elizabeth parish and/or in the community have you been involved with? (volunteer service at St. Elizabeth parish is preferred but not a requirement)
• How do you think your Catholic faith will help you reach your future academic and career goals? (250 word limit)
• How can you help the Catholic church connect with the youth now and in the future? (250 word limit)
• What has been one specific challenge or obstacle you have faced and what did you learn about yourself from this experience? (200 word limit)
• What are your educational plans and goals? (200 word limit)
